The pandemic left businesses with no choice but to either let their employees work from home or completely go on hiatus. If you are one of those companies that need to be ‘business-as-usual’ but is having a hard time functioning, here are some of our tips to stay afloat:

1. Stay visible.

Although most of the world is technically on lockdown, we can all still connect on digital. As we speak, millions of people are using social media and consuming content 24/7. This is a good opportunity to interact with your audience and assure them that despite these uncertain times, you’re still there for them.

2. Maximize your tools.

It’s not just social media! There are a lot of tools you can use to stay productive and keep in contact with your team and customers. Explore project management and team communication apps to always be in the loop. Working from home won’t be as difficult if you equip yourself with the right tools. We’ll suggest some soon!

3. Be empathic.

The reality is, it’s not business as usual anymore. During this time, show empathy and focus on how to adjust and move forward. Be sensitive to the situation by keeping hard-sell marketing to a minimum. Instead, focus on how you will use your business to help out during this critical period.

4. Help out in any way that you can.

Any kind of help will go a long way! Whether it’s by posting emergency hotlines, sharing info about COVID-19, or actually donating and using your resources to help people, this is the best time to show what your company is really made of. Use your platforms to make a difference and contribute to fighting this war.

Just keep swimming!

Right now, there are only limited things we can do but we can always prepare for the future. Instead of worrying about the uncertainty, use this time to plan and plot your next move. This is our new reality so we need to adjust. Keep swimming to stay afloat.
