We were tasked to introduce the new and redeveloped Patria de Cebu as a place where people can celebrate the spirit of community and oneness, reconnect with the past in a contemporary setting, and gather at the centerpiece of Cebuano history.

Rediscover Life at Downtown Cebu

As the center of Cebuano life, we came up with a tagline that invites people to live in the promise of the present, as they rediscover the charm and glory that revered Cebu as the cradle of Filipino Christianity and the country’s oldest cultural foundation.

Imbued with enduring faith and illuminating grace

The logo features golden rays that radiate the vibrance of Cebu’s diverse cultural scene. We also used negative space to form a figure-ground of a “cross”, paying homage to the ecclesiastical ties and religious significance of Patria de Cebu.

Retelling the humble stories of a glorious past

Our palette takes inspiration from the undertones of old Catholic paintings. Similar to Cebu’s historical landmarks and century-old monuments, we see these pieces as living depictions of the humble stories influencing the Cebuano culture and heritage today.

Embedded with the proud features of a historic facade

Preserving the heritage of the place, we paired the transitional details of Playfair Display with the modern candor of Open Sans to create a type composition that is reminiscent of Patria de Cebu’s classic architecture and contemporary design.

Curated with effortless elegance and exclusivity

We made use of warm and light undertones to create a refined and luxe atmosphere that is reminiscent of Iloilo’s natural splendor and idyllic scene— thoughtfully composed and beautifully preserved.
